West Hollywood Real Estate

With over 130,000 residents Hollywood is located in on the south eastern coast of Broward County. West Hollywood is an enclave of family centered neighborhoods west of I-95 in the City of Hollywood. In 1920, the developer Joseph Young purchased the first square mile to begin the Florida city he would call Hollywood. His city was planned from the start with wide boulevards, parks, vistas, and harmonious architecture derived from styles then popular in southern California where he had lived, from bungalows to mission, Moorish, and Spanish-eclectic, styles still evident in buildings throughout Hollywood. In the 1960's the people began pushing west to build year around suburban family homes and retirement communities.

West Hollywood features several golf courses including Emerald Hills, Orangebrook Country Club, and Hillcrest. It also enjoys in a fantastic variety of public A+ public schools, and the best private and charter schools. West Hollywood contains an array of state-of-the-art public parks including a water park.

Thriving parks and recreation and art cultural programs are at the center of this community. Neighborhood based programs provide an array of camps, classes and activities for young and old. The city is also close to campuses for Broward Community Collage, Florida International University and the main branch of the Broward Library. Hollywood residents and their neighbors have many shopping options. There is near by world famous Aventura as well as, local strip malls lining most main roads, local centers with big-name anchors, and nearby Historical Downtown Hollywood where quaint shops, art galleries, cafes and fine dining abound.
