Formerly a city, on September 15, 2002 Melrose Park was annexed to the city of Fort Lauderdale, and is now a neighborhood. Fort Lauderdale was incorporated on March 27, 1911, the city is situated on the southeast coast of Florida, centrally located between Miami and Palm Beach.
