The historic town of Goulds is located in rural Miami-Dade County. The area developed originally as a stop on the Florida East Coast Rail Road. The railroad depot was located near today's Southwest 216th Street and the community was named after its operator, Lyman Gould, who cut trees for railroad ties. Featured on the list of Registered Historic places in Florida, Goulds downtown area had a post office, a grocery store and an apartment building.
