Dania Beach is the first city in Broward County dating back to the 1880s. Starting as a settlement called Modello, it was incorporated in November, 1904. Most of the 35 residents were of Danish ancestry, and they changed the name of the town to Dania. The city is nestled between Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale, near the Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport.

The city of Dania Beach mixes accessibility with charm and friendliness. It features beautiful pristine beaches, canals and intracoastal waterway, which make it one of the few cities in Broward County with unobstructed ocean access. With an average temperature of 72 degrees, world-class beaches, fishing pier and soon to be constructed Pier Restaurant, marine related activities, state, county and city parks, this is the perfect place for year-round outdoor activities or just relaxing.

Dania Beach is rapidly becoming the undisputed capital of South Florida's maritime industry. It is home to the leading maritime training and research center (AMO), educational facility (FAU), the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum, Bass Pro Shops, and more than 30 marinas and marine related businesses.

The historic downtown district is home to Antique Row, the world famous Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor and Country Store, and Dania Jai Alai. Dania Beach's future redevelopment plans will provide enhancements to the downtown area as well as the marine industry. Dania Beach is home to John U. Lloyd State Park, one of the few remaining beachfront preserves in South Florida.

Dania Beach is adjacent to Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale International Airport. Downtown Fort Lauderdale's fine dining, shopping and entertainment are just minutes away. The city is served by US postal code 33004.
