Andover Real Estate

At just over two acres Andover is the smallest subdivision in Miami Gardens. It is conveniently located in the north-central corner of Miami-Dade right on the edge of the Broward County line. With a population of 105,457, the city of Miami Gardens is the third largest city in Miami-Dade County (after Miami and Hialeah).

Andover is located mid-way between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, and is easily accessed by I-95, the Palmetto Expressway (SR 826) and the Florida Turnpike. The city comprises approximately 20 square miles. Today, Andover is one of Miami-Dade's most ethnically diverse communities. It is a solid, working class community with distinctive diversity. The median household income is $31,779 and the population is 8,489.

The main business district is along NW 183rd St (Miami Gardens Drive) and 27th Avenue, the 183rd St. Flea Market sits, is a must-stop on weekends. Along 183rd St, shoppers can find several small restaurants, clothing and travel shops that cater to Caribbean and Latin markets, or they can buy fruit, seafood and even furniture from vendors who set up shop along the roadside.

Andover is close to Dolphin Stadium (formerly called Pro Player Stadium), where the NFL Miami Dolphins and the MLB Florida Marlins play their home games. Calder Race Course is also located close by and Miami and Fort Lauderdale Airports are only 30 minutes away. As a subdivision of Miami Gardens, Andover enjoys the advantage of their active recreation department. Residents can also benefit from many community programs or enjoy activities and events held by the city throughout the year.

There is a bustling community center and fantastic park grounds that include a large tot-lot and a playground area suited for children of elementary school age. The city parks boast baseball, softball and soccer fields, and organized children's sports programs.
